Season 9 (Poland)

Season 9 is the ninth season from the Polish version of Love Island, hosted by Karolina Gilon and premiering March 4th,2024 on TV4.

Production[]

The ninth season of the Polish show was confirmed to be in production upon the end of the previous season on October 14th,2023 with the show promoting it's casting drive on social media.

On February 3rd, it was revealed that the new season would be airing it's episodes at a different time of the day, instead airing at 10:00pm in the evening Polish time instead of the previous 9 o'clock slot. At the time it was confirmed that this was because of the return of another show in the "Holiday Diaries" which took Love Island's normal time-slot.^[1] The new season was also confirmed to be premiering March 4th,2024.

On February 12th, 2024 it was reaffirmed that host; Karolina Gilon would be returning to helm the ninth season of the show, with her revealing excitement for the upcoming season at the time.^[2]

Casting[]

Applications for the ninth season of the show were opened on October 14th,2023 just after the conclusion of the eighth season. Like with the previous seasons of the show, the producers were looking for young and attractive singles between the ages of 21 and 35 to take part.^[3]

There were multiple ways in which potential islanders could apply to take part, including the traditional application form and via DMs through the show's official Instagram account.^[4]

Villa[]

Upon the announcement of the season's launch date on February 3rd,2024 it was confirmed that the season would be airing from a new luxury villa in Andalusia, Spain.

Islanders[]

The initial cast of islanders for the season, were first teased by the show through their social media on February 26th,2024. From February 28th,2024 the islanders were revealed in pairs periodically till February 29th, revealing a line-up of 5 boys and 5 girls. More islanders entered the villa later as bombshells.

	Couplings	Day 1:After each of the boys had entered the villa, the girls were each brought in one by one and were allowed to choose a boy to couple up with. Day 2:In the evening, bombshells; Daniel K, Daria and Patrycja were given the opportunity to couple up with an islander of their choice, with Daria coupling up with Adrian, Daniel K with Emilia and Patrycja going for Jarek. Day 3: First re-coupling (Boys choice)-Daniel J & Oliwia, Daniel K & Emilia (Stayed together). Adrian & Wiktoria, Arek & Zuzanna, Bartosz & Joanna, Rafal & Patrycja, Jarek & Daria (Re-coupled).
	Challenges	Day 3:Science has not gone away-In this school-themed challenge, the islanders were tasked with answering questions surrounding various school subjects like geography and science. If they got an answer right they'd be able to choose an islander of their choice to kiss.

	Couplings	Day 7: Upon the evening it was revealed that Oliwia & Adrian had been voted as the most popular girl and boy respectively by the public and as part of a twist the two of them were given the power to reshuffle the couples.
