Season 6 (America)

Season 6 is the sixth season of the American Love Island, hosted by Ariana Madix and premiering June 11th,2024 on Peacock.

Production[]

On November 16th,2023 it was reported that the American Love Island had been renewed for a further two seasons by Peacock, with Corie Henson; the executive vice president of unscripted content at Peacock highlighting the trajectory of growth that the show was taking as a key factor in the renewal decision.^[1]

Later on March 27th,2024 it was announced by Sarah Hyland that she would be stepping down from her position as host from the sixth season onwards. At the time, Hyland explained that this was due to the fact that filming for the show would conflict with a then unknown project she had already committed to.^[2] Two days later on March 29th,2024 it was announced by Peacock that "Vanderpump Rules" star and previous guest host: Ariana Madix would be taking over as the main host from this season onwards.^[3]

On May 7th,2024 it was officially confirmed by the producers, that the season would be premiering on June 11th,2024 alongside the release of the season's first promotional artwork and teaser featuring a Barbie movie-inspired aesthetic with Ariana Madix.^[4]

On May 9th,2024 it was reported that there would be a possibility that like with the previous fifth season and the first season of Games there would be a number of guests arriving in the villa throughout the season. This fact was taken from a short synopsis for the season that had just been released.^[5]

Casting[]

Applications for potential islanders were opened by the show upon the official confirmation of the season on November 16th,2024. Producers were once again looking for young and attractive boys and girls 18 and over to take part, encouraging potential applicants to access the show's official casting website via their social media channels.^[6]

As of June 2024, applications for this season are still open.^[7]

Villa[]

When the show's launch date was confirmed on May 7th,2024 it was also confirmed that the show would once again be returning to the Fiji villa used in the previous season.

Islanders[]

The initial line-up of islanders were officially revealed in full on June 4th,2024 and was comprised of 5 boys and 5 girls.^[8]More islanders entered the villa later in the season as bombshells.

Week 1	Couplings	Day 1: After each of the boys and girls entered the villa, they took part in a game to get to know each other better. After this each of the boys were given the opportunity to choose a girl to couple up with. The final couplings were as such-Aaron & Kaylor, Coye & Jana, Kendall & Hannah, Kordell & Serena, Rob & Leah. Day 2: After the initial coupling bombshell: Olivia arrived and was told that during the next day she'd be able to couple up with a boy of her choice. On Day 2, Leah made the decision to couple up with Rob, leaving Leah single.
