Season 5 is the fifth season of Poland's version of the popular British Dating reality show; Love Island, hosted by Karolina Gilon and premiering February 28th, 2022 on Polish television channel; Polsat.
The fifth season of the show was first confirmed to be in production on November 9th,2021, as confirmed through the show's official social media accounts, upon the announcement of casting for this season.[1]. Later on December 31st,2021 it was confirmed that Karolina would be returning to host the show once more through the show's audition promotions.
On February 16th,2022 a trailer for the upcoming season was released featuring Karolina explaining the basics of the show, while clips of the previous season were played, to give viewers an idea of what the show was about. At the same time the launch date was confirmed to be February 28th,2022.[2]
Casting[]
Auditions for the fifth season were opened on November 9th, 2021 with the producers encouraging young singles between the ages of 21 and 35 to fill out an application form which could be accessed through their official site. In order to accomplish this, the show made use of it's social media platforms, posting short promotional videos, featuring clips from the previous season to try and convince potential new islanders to audition.[3]
Villa[]
The season will be broadcast from a villa based in Andalusia, Spain, which is the same villa that was used for the previous season.
Islanders[]
The initial cast of islanders were beginning to be teased by the show through their socials on February 20th,2022, just over a week from the launch of the season. The posts featured the lower-halves of the islander's body, with a cartoonish version of their covering their top.[4] The islander teased in the post would then be revealed in full a few hours later. Each day leading up to the launch, the show revealed 1-2 new islanders who would be a part of the initial line-up for the season, with 5 boys and 5 girls set to be revealed. Further islanders will enter the villa later as bombshells.
Day 1:After each of the boys had entered the villa, the girls then came in one after the other, with each of the boys being given the chance to step forward if they were interested in coupling with either of these girls, before said girl chose their partner. The final couplings were as such: Ania & Michal, Iwona & Konrad, Julia & Robert, Kamila & Lukasz, Patrycja & Wlodek.
Day 2: After the first coupling on Day 1, 2 new girls; Agnieszka and Oliwia were introduced to the villa, where they were told that during the next day they'd be able to both steal a boy of their choice to couple with. On Day 2 however, as both of them wanted to couple up with Konrad, the choice was left up to him, with him then choosing to couple with Oliwia, leaving Iwona single.
Day 5: First re-coupling (Boys choice)-Konrad & Oliwia (Stayed together). Radek & Julia, Michal & Kamila, Lukasz & Patrycja, Wlodek & Ania (Re-coupled).
Challenges
Day 3:Aces and Rackets- For this challenge the boys and girls were divided into 2 teams based on gender, with each team taking it in turns to try and hit a tennis ball towards a photo of an islander from the opposite team they wanted to kiss, with them scoring a point for each of these. The team that had the most points at the end would be declared the winners.

Day 2: After coupling up, Konrad and Oliwia were sent on a date together.

Day 5: On Day 5, the islanders were tasked with voting off one boy and one girl, whom they didn't think had a chance of finding love - Robert & Iwona (Chosen by the girls and boys respectively).
Day 8: Second re-coupling (Boys choice)- Konrad & Oliwia, Lukasz & Patrycja, Wlodek & Ania (Stayed together). Michal & Julia, Radek & Kamila, Sidiki & Roksana (Re-coupled).
Day 11: On Day 10, new islander; Kuba was told that during the next day he'd be able to steal a girl off of one of the boys to couple with. On Day 11, he chose to couple up with Julia, therefore leaving Michal single.
Challenges
Day 7: Puzzle school-The boys were tasked with arranging cardboard cut-outs of the girls, with each boy having to put together one of their partner, based around hashtags.

Day 9: On Day 8, a public vote for the most popular boys and girls was opened-Radek & Kamila(Voted least popular boy and girl).
Day 16: Third re-coupling (Boys choice)-Lukasz & Patrycja, Wlodek & Ania (Stayed together). Daniel & Oliwia, Jakub & Julia, Konrad & Roksana, Sidiki & Aleksandra, Kuba & Josie (Re-coupled).
Challenges
Day 15:The Flavours of Love Island-In this challenge, the boys were each blindfolded, with each of the girls then taking it in turns to kiss each boy. Once a girl has snogged each boy, they would then need to rate the snog out of 10, with the girl that managed to get the highest total score, being declared the winner. In the end, Ania was declared as the winner of the challenge.
Day 16:Titans and Priestesses- Each of the boys dressed up like Greek gods and had to take part in an obstacle course, featuring 3 different parts; the strip, lava-pit and Mount Olympus. The girls would then choose the winner, based on which of the boys pulled off the sexiest performance. In the end they determined that Lukasz was the winner of the challenge.

Day 16: As a reward for winning the challenge, Lukasz was able to take a girl of his choice out on date and he chose Patrycja.

Day 23: Fourth re-coupling (Girls Choice) - Ania & Wlodek, Patrycja & Lukasz, Josie & Kuba (Stayed together). Ola & Jakub, Oliwia & Konrad (Re-coupled).
Challenges
Day 26:Tigers and tigresses- For this challenge both Casa Amor and the Main villa went head to head in a challenge where each of the islanders had to pair up with another islander of the opposite sex and perform a sex position, with the rest of their team then having to try and guess it to score a point. The villa that scored the most points would be declared the winners of both the challenge and of new islander; Helena. In the end, it was the Main villa that managed to win.

Day 22: On Day 19, a public vote for the least popular boys and girls opened-Sidiki & Roksana (Voted leas popular boy and girl respectively). After this the safe islanders had to vote out one of the next 3 least popular boys and the next 3 least popular girls as to whom they thought would be least likely to find love - Julia & Daniel (Voted for by the islanders).
Week 5
Couplings
Day 29: "Stick or twist" re-coupling (OG islander's choice)-Konrad & Oliwia, Josie & Kuba (Stayed together). Patrycja & Mikolaj, Ania & Jurek, Jakub & Sandra, Wlodek & Laura, Aleksandra & Piotr.
Day 33: Sixth re-coupling (Boys Choice)-Kuba & Josie, Jakub & Sandra, Mikolaj & Patrycja, Piotr & Ola (Stayed together). Wlodek & Ania, Jurek & Laura (Re-coupled).
Challenges
Day 28:Raunchy Races- Each of the villas were tasked with performing a number of small tasks, with the villa to complete each first scoring a point. The villa at the end of the challenge that managed to score the most points would be declared the winners. In end the Main villa were once again the winners.
Day 31:Playing the field- In this challenge, the boys all dressed up as American football players, while their partners dressed up as cheerleaders. The boy had to protect their cheerleader, while she attempted to score a goal with an American football, all while the other boys sprayed them with paint. The couple who managed to remain the cleanest at the end would win.
Day 33:Intimate Secrets-For this challenge, each of the couples were tasked with being brave enough to own up to some of their secrets, with them being able to score a point for doing so. The couple at the end of the game with the most points would be declared the winners. In the end this Patrycja and Mikolaj, who won a night in the hide-away.

Day 31: After a game of "Couples Jenga", the last piece of the tower read that the couples had to each vote off the couple, whom they thought were the least sincere and truthful in their relationship-Konrad & Oliwia (Chosen by the islanders).

Day 36:Parenting Challenge- Each of the couples were tasked with looking after a baby doll for the next 2 days and if enough of them were able to successfully pass the test, they'd be able to win themselves a party.
