Season 5 is the fifth season of the German Love Island, hosted by Jana Zarella and premiering March 8th,2021 on RTLII.
The season came to it's conclusion on March 29th,2021 after three weeks, with Bianca Jule and Paco Harb being declared the winners of both the season and the cash prize. Fynn Kunz and Greta Lovelly were also revealed as the runners-up.
Production[]
In October 2020, after the success of the fourth season, it was confirmed by ITV Studios international, that From 2021 RTLII were going to be airing 2 seasons of Love Island a year, instead of just 1, including the show's first ever spring season. Jana was also confirmed to be returning as host.
In January 2021, it was rumoured that this season would be airing March 8th, after fans saw a countdown on RTLII's Love Island website. Later on February 11th,2021 it was officially confirmed by the network that the first spring season would indeed be airing March 8th,2021.
On 28th March,2021 it was announced by Jana Zarella, that this would be her last season as the host of Love Island Germany.[1]
Auditions[]
Auditions for the fifth season of the show, were opened in October 2020, after the announcement had been made. Producers were once again looking for young and attractive boys and girls to take part in the season, using social media to head-hunt potentials and asking them to send in audition tapes
Islanders[]
The initial line-up of islanders were announced 2nd March,2021, with the girls being revealed first on the show's app. The boys would then be revealed later on March 3rd. The cast is comprised of 6 girls and 5 boys. Further islanders will enter later.
