Season 3 is the third season of the Finnish Love Island, hosted by Veronica Verho and premiering August 23rd,2021 on Finnish television channel; Sub.
Production[]
The third season was announced to have been commissioned by both ITV Studios and Sub on March 15th,2021, for broadcast in the summer. Later on June 1st,2021 it was confirmed that the third season would be premiering on August 16th,2021, with Veronica Verho being the new host for the third season. It was then revealed on the premiere day that a crew member had come in contact with someone with COVID-19, the premiere was then moved a week later now on August 23rd, 2021.
Casting[]
Casting for this season was first announced to be open through the show's official social media accounts on March 17th,2021; 2 days after the season was announced to be airing. As usual the producers were looking for young and attractive single boys and girls to take part. Specifically the show was looking for those who are between the ages of 20 & 34 to fill out a form of their details, as well as answer questions in regards to what would make them a good islander, all of which could be accessed through MTV Finland's audition site.[1]
Applicants would also be required to film a short video about themselves, that would be uploaded alongside the main application. Auditions would later come to a close in June,2021.[2]
The Villa[]
The first official look at this season's villa was released via their Instagram page on August 15th, revealing a few close-up images of some of the areas found within the villa. Later on August 23rd, 2021 (the day of the launch), the villa was revealed in full, featuring an interconnecting bedroom, lounge and make-up room, alongside outdoor areas like a large pool, the firepit and day-beds.
It's located in Estepona, Spain and is notable as being the villa that was used for the previous season of Love Island's Netherland version.
Islanders[]
The initial line-up of islanders for this season were first starting to be teased from August 4th,2021, with a teaser being posted each day till August 13th. The cast was then revealed in full on August 13th,2019, consisting 5 boys and 5 girls. Further islanders entered the show later in the season.
