Season 2 is the second season of the Belgian version of popular British dating reality show; Love Island, hosted by both Holly Mae Brood & Viktor Verhulst and premiering August 31st,2020 on Four.

Production

After the previous Netherlands exclusive season came to a close in November of 2019, there was doubt cast over whether there'd be another season of the Belgian version of the show, thanks to the government taking offence when sexual conduct was shown on another similar relationship-based show. It was later stated that a show of this calibre would no longer fit in with the "Me-Too" era by by a former TV executive; Tina Nijikamp.

However on June 11th,2020 this fact was disconfirmed as the official Instagram account for the show and host; Viktor Velhulst confirmed that another season of the show was indeed in production, with auditions being opened. The season in question would go on to premiere August 31st, 2020 with both Holly and Viktor returning to co-host together.

Casting

As mentioned within the above section, the auditions for this season were opened on June 11th,2020, upon the announcement of the season of Viktor. As usual the show was looking for young singular boys and girls to take part in the season. These auditions would later close prior to the August 31st launch date.

Islanders

The initial cast of islanders for this season was announced on August 25th,2020 6 days from the launch on August 31st, and comprised of six girls and five boys. Further islanders would enter later in the season.
