Season 1 (Suomi)

Season 1 is the first season of the Finnish version, hosted by Shirly Karvinen and premiering September 26th,2018 on Finnish television channel; Sub.

Production[]

The first season of Love Island Finland was announced by ITV Studios and MTV on June 20th,2018 after the success of the franchise elsewhere across the world. The host of the show was also announced to be Finnish model and television hostess; Shirly Karvenen. This first season was later confirmed on September 4th,2018 with a teaser, to be airing on September 25th 2018.

However thanks to a technical issue surrounding the transmission of the show, the show had to be delayed to the next day on September 26th instead.

Casting[]

The auditions for the first season were opened just after the announcement of the season, with producers looking for young and attractive boys and girls to take part, by sending in audition tapes or through the use of head-hunting via social media.

Villa[]

The first season was filmed in a luxury villa situated in Marbella, Spain, with the show being filmed from said villa for 6 days a week.

The initial line-up of islanders were announced September 24th,2018, only 2 days prior to the start of the season on September 26th. Further islanders would enter later in the season.
