Season 1 is the first season of the Romanian Love Island, hosted by Alina Ceusan and premiering October 1st,2023 on Pro TV.
Production[]
The Romanian version of the show, was one that was first announced on February 10th,2020 by both ITV Studios and Antena.[1] However it could be surmised that due to issues surrounding covid-19 at the time, this version of the show was cancelled.
Later on May 12th,2023 it was announced by Romanian TV channel; Pro TV that the series was being picked up for a season due to air in the fall of 2023, with it having been announced earlier in the year that it had gone into pre-production. At the time of the announcement, Antonii Mangov; the programming director at Pro TV commented that the show was going to fit perfectly into both Voyo and Pro TV's strategy of providing quality entertainment for their diverse range of viewers.[2]
On August 21st,2023 it was announced that beauty blogger/Youtuber; Alina Ceusan would be the presenter of the Romanian Love Island.[3] On September 15th,2023 it was confirmed that the first season of the show would be premiering on October 1st,2023.[4]
Casting[]
Applications for the first season were opened upon it's announcement on May 12th,2023 with producers looking for young and attractive singles to take part. From May 20th,2023 the producers began a months-long promotional campaign advertising the auditions through their social media channels. There potential islanders were directed towards the show's application form. As of October,2023 applications are still open.[5]
According to Pro TV, they were able to accrue thousands of applications for their first season.[6]
Villa[]
This season is based out of a luxury villa located in Tenerife. The first official photos of the villa were released by Pro TV on August 23rd,2023 featuring the large outdoors pool, the kitchen and bedroom.
Islanders[]
The initial line-up of islanders for the new season were announced on September 24th,2023 and comprised of 5 boys and 5 girls. Further islanders would enter the villa later, as bombshells.
