On June 23rd,2022 it was announced that from 2023 onwards, the show would be airing 2 seasons a year. This would include both a new winter season of the show, as well as the normal season in the summer. This came after record ratings were recorded for the then-current season, with 5 million views being recorded for the season's opening episode across all platforms, as well as having attained 7.5 million streams and 74 million for the entire series.[1]
During an appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show on March 11th,2023 Maya confirmed that she would be returning to host the tenth season in the summer, despite ITV having not officially confirmed the news at the time.[2] On April 11th,2023 it was reported that the tenth season would be premiering on June 5th,2023, with insiders reporting that contestants would be flown out at the end of the next month and the series due to run for eight weeks.[3]
This news was officially confirmed by ITV on May 24th,2023, through an official post made on the show's social media accounts. Maya Jama was also confirmed to be returning as the host.[4]
After it was initially trialled during the previous season, on May 24th,2023 the producers announced that they would be reintroducing the social media ban for this season as a part of their duty of care. This social media ban would stop anyone affiliated with the islanders from managing their accounts for them while they were in the villa in a bid to try and crack down on exposure to negative social media comments. The producers also looked to make a raft of updates to their DOT mandate, looking to bring in video training for each of the islanders that would cover topics like how to be mutually respectful in a relationship and coercive/controlling behaviour.[5]
Casting[]
Applications for the new season were opened on March 14th,2023 just a day after the ninth season came to a close. This was advertised through the show's social media accounts, featuring a promo ad that featured the South-African villa.[6] The show was once again looking to convince young and attractive single boys and girls between the ages of 18-35 to apply for the new season, through the use of an application form that could be found through the show's official website.
However not long after this on March 21st,2023 it was reported that the numbers of applicants for the new season were dwindling in comparison to the previous seasons. At the time it was cited by insiders of the show, that this all came as an effect of the social media ban put in place during the previous season, with it being stated that influencers were too afraid to sign-up knowing that they wouldn't be able to spark brand deals off the back of the show.[7] As of May, 2023 applications for the tenth season are still open.[8]
Villa[]
Upon the initial announcement of the season on June 23rd,2023 it was confirmed that the tenth season would return to the 2022 villa in Majorca for the summer. On April 24th,2023 the first images of the villa were revealed, revealing the renovation work being put into getting the villa ready for the summer season. At the time it was also confirmed that the villa would be having solar-panels installed in a bid to be more eco-friendly.[9]
The first official images of the new villa were released on June 1st,2023, revealing both the villa's new orange, pink, yellow and blue colour aesthetic, as well as a brand new dressing room.[10]

These books contain a statement correlating to an islander on the opposite team and the reader would have to guess who it correlated to, by snogging them. You've got to move fast with your feelings on Love Island, but Zachariah shocks the Islanders big time when he makes moves on Molly in the Absolute Bankers Challenge, cashing in and kissing her in front of Catherine. We have a feeling this isn't going to go down well with our Dublin babe..
