Ruben entered the villa on Day 5, as a late entrant. There he was told that that night he'd be able to couple up with a girl of his choice. That night he chose to couple up with Lorena, leaving Saul single. However Saul didn't want to lose Lorena and hit the red button, therefore placing him and Ruben into a public vote. Later on Day 8, it was revealed that Ruben had lost this battle as he had received the most votes to eliminate from the public and was dumped from the villa, finishing in 22nd place. Later on Day 22, Ruben was given a second chance and entered the Main villa, as a part of the Casa Amor twist. After Casa Amor on Day 27, Ruben was unable to couple up with anyone during the "Stick or twist" re-coupling, but after the re-coupling received a text, notifying him that he'd be able to stay in the villa single. Upon returning to the villa on Day 29, Ruben made the decision to press the red button, placing himself and Rafa in a public vote in a bid for him to couple up with Lara. On Day 30, Ruben was told that he'd have to couple up with one of Ariadna or Mirella and as such he chose to couple up with Ariadna. On Day 31, Ruben chose to press the "Red Button" and place himself and Rafa in a public vote, in a bid to couple up with Lara. On Day 32, Ruben won this public vote and was able to stay in the villa, then coupling up with Lara during that day's final re-coupling. At Day 39's finale, both Ruben and partner; Lara came out together in 3rd place.
