Do you say Brabant cosiness? Then you say: Merijn! This muscular energy bomb is only 21 years old, but already has a successful electrical company of his own.

For Merijn, family is number one and he sees his lovely parents as his great examples. Especially in the field of love, because his mom and dad have been very happy with each other for 29 years now.

Merijn's own love life hasn't really gotten going yet, but that's not because of his decorating skills. With his opening dance, endearing smile and hard-hitting six-pack, he makes many a woman's heart run wild.

They just don't really stick yet. On Love Island, he therefore hopes to hook a spontaneous brown-eyed-beauty with whom he can go on nice and active dates.^[1]

Merijn entered the villa on Day 1, where he chose to couple up with Kimbery. At Day 5's first re-coupling, Merijn decided to re-couple with Sunita. Merijn was able to stay coupled with Sunita for the second re-coupling on Day 12. After Casa Amor on Day 21, Merijn came back from Casa Amor single however thanks to a twist vote held between the coupled up islanders, he was allowed to stay single. Later on Day 25, Merijn was chosen to be coupled up with by Imen, during that day's re-coupling. Later during the final re-coupling on Day 29, Merijn chose to re-couple with Raphaella. Later on Day 31, it was revealed that both he and Raphaella had not received enough public votes to make the finale and as such the pair were dumped together in 5th place.
