Love Island Games is a spinoff series of the popular dating reality TV show; Love Island, hosted by Maya Jama and premiering it's first season on November 1st,2023 on American streaming platform; Peacock.
History[]
The spinoff was announced by both ITV Studios and Peacock on April 18th,2023, with it being revealed at the time that the new show would feature an array of all-star islanders from around the world taking part in a number of challenges.[1]
On August 25th,2023 it was revealed that LI UK host; Maya Jama would be taking over hosting duties for the spinoff, with the show's social media pages posting a video featuring Maya giving the low-down on the new spinoff. At the same time it was also confirmed, that the spinoff would be taking place in the same Fiji villa used for the previous American season of the show, as well as the show's launch date of November 1st,2023.[2]
Later on October 5th,2023 it was confirmed that former LI-UK islander; Maura Higgins would be returning for the spinoff as the social media ambassador for the show, after having previously filled the role in the fifth season of the American show.[3]
Format[]
In this spinoff, a variety of islanders from across the globe (namely America, the UK & Australia) are invited back to the villa for a second chance at love. Throughout the show, the islanders would take part in a number of different challenges, with each of these either being classified as team or couple challenges which would go alongside the normal LI format of re-couplings, bombshells and dates.
