Love Island Australia is the Australian counterpart to the original British dating-reality television show; Love Island. This version of the show was produced by ITV Studios for the Australian TV channel; 9Go! where it's first season would be broadcasted during summer of 2018.
The first season of the show was hosted by Sophie Monk and narrated by Eoghan McDermott, and premiered on 9Go!on May 27th,2018.

Like it's British counterpart, this version of the show features a selection of attractive boys and girls looking for love and requires these singles to couple up in order to stay on the island. Throughout the show, new islanders would be introduced to the game and re-coupling sessions are held, where the islanders have the chance to either stay with their partner or re-couple with someone else. Those who are left single would then be dumped.
The couples are required to stay together while on the island and socialize and live together with their fellow islanders. Within this time a number of twists/challenges would be thrown at the couples in order to challenge the strength of their relationships. At the end of the season, the last remaining couple would win and take home the cash prize of $50,000.

The First season of Love Island Australia began showing on 9Go! May 27th,2018 and ran for 30 episodes across 5 weeks, hosted by Sophie Monk. On 5th July, 2018 Tayla Damir and Grant Crapp were declared the winners of the first season and therefore the $50,000.
A second season of Love Island Australia was confirmed to premier in 2019, and has been moved to 9's primary broadcast channel.
