Lie Detector Test

Lie Detector Test is a yearly love Island challenge, that usually occurs towards the end of each season.

Introduction[]

The lie detector involves both the boys and the girls participating in a polygraph test that has been designed to test whether an islander is telling the truth. One half of each of the remaining couples on the show, will be allowed to write down some questions for their partner focused around their relationship.

These questions will then be asked by another islander, and when answering the questions, if the recipient is being truthful the lights on the lie detector will go green and if they're not being truthful, they will go red. The gender that takes part in this test, varies based on the season.

This challenge was discontinued for the fifth season of Love Island in 2019, after concerns came about after the suicide of a Jeremy Kyle guest, who took a polygraph test, as well as the suicides of Mike & Sophie.
